Backgrind is a desktop overlay that lets you run AI coding agents in an always on top window that floats over any application — including fullscreen games. It supports bringing your own CLI agents (Claude Code, Cursor) or using the built in hosted agent called Grindy. The overlay provides a mini IDE with file tree, syntax highlighted previews, and rendered Markdown. Key features include click through glance mode, multi agent tabs, voice input via on device Whisper, and a "vibe code" mode that hides source code for a more hands off experience. Live mode mirrors the desktop session to a phone or iPad with end to end encryption.
