How to Submit Your Website Automatically

Paste your product homepage on NewName.ai. We read the page, fill the listing, and you confirm it before it enters the directory.

Most directory forms ask for the same things your homepage already says: the product name, a one-line description, a logo, a screenshot, and whether the product is free. On NewName.ai you start with the URL. We read that page, fill the listing, and you check it before it goes into the directory.

NewName.ai is a curated list of AI companies and new startups. A listing here is a product page with your name, tagline, description, and a link back to your site. The submit flow is built so you do not retype that page by hand.

Start with the product homepage

Open newname.ai/submit and sign in. A free account is enough. Google sign-in works too. You need an account so we can email you when the listing is published, and so you can edit it later from the dashboard.

Paste the product homepage, then click Check Website. Use the root of the product, such as https://yourproduct.com. Inner pages are not listed. A pricing page, a docs URL, or a blog post will be rejected with a note to submit the homepage instead.

Two other checks run before we fetch anything:

  • If that exact website is already in the directory, the form stops and tells you it has been submitted.
  • Some domains cannot be submitted at all. The field is for your own product site.

If today's check passes, the page moves on and reads the site. You will see it crawl the page, then extract the product details. When that finishes, the form is already filled.

What gets filled from the URL

We read the public homepage and pull the fields a listing needs:

FieldWhere it comes from
Product nameThe page title, cleaned so it is the name and not the whole headline
TaglineA one-sentence line, usually from the meta description, rewritten to about 8–16 words
DescriptionA short product brief in Markdown, based only on text on the site
CategoryOne label, such as AI & Machine Learning, SaaS, Developer Tools, or Productivity
TagsThree to five keywords from the page
LogoThe site icon or logo
ScreenshotThe social preview image, if the page has one
PricingFree, freemium, or paid, when the page says so
GitHubThe repository URL, if the project is open source

The description is written from the page you submitted. It does not add customers, funding, or numbers that are not on the site. If the evidence on the homepage is thin, the brief stays short.

A homepage screenshot is captured after the text fields are filled. If that capture fails, you can paste an image URL or upload one yourself. The same is true if the crawl cannot read the page: the form tells you, then lets you type the fields by hand. You are not blocked.

Confirm the listing, then send it

Automatic fill is the first step. You still see every field before it is stored.

Product details. Name, tagline, website, category, tags, and the description. Fix anything that is off. Required fields are the name, the tagline, and the website. A description longer than a sentence, a logo, and a screenshot are what make the public page useful, so it is worth a minute here.

Media and pricing. Logo, screenshots, and the pricing model: free, freemium or free trial, or paid. You can also add a promo, such as 20% off for 3 months with a code, and store links for the App Store, Google Play, Chrome Web Store, or Steam.

Makers and alternatives. Founder name, title, and X or LinkedIn handles. You can search products already on NewName and attach them as alternatives, or type a competitor that is not in the directory yet. Handles are stored without the @.

When the checklist looks right, choose how fast we review it, then submit.

How fast the listing goes live

Five free listings open each day.

  • Free queue. Nothing to add to your site. If the product fits, we publish in 7–15 days. When the five slots for the day are full, this option closes until the next day.
  • Expedite with a badge. Place a small “Listed on NewName.ai” badge on your homepage within 7 days and leave it there. No payment. Once we see the badge, review usually takes 1–2 days. If the badge is still missing after 7 days, the expedite is cancelled and the listing is not published. The badge page is here.
  • Publish now. Pay $9.99 once. After Stripe confirms the payment, the listing is published. If you close checkout, nothing is charged, and the saved listing can be paid from the dashboard.

There is a separate media kit if you want an editor to use the product and write the piece, with homepage placement and a dofollow link. That path opens from the same screen. It is not the automatic listing.

After a normal submit, the page confirms you are in the queue. You can submit another product from there, or go back to the directory.

If the automatic step stops

The usual causes are specific, and the form says which one it is.

  • Not a homepage. Submit https://yourproduct.com, not a subpage.
  • Already submitted. That website is in the directory. Sign in and edit the existing listing instead of sending a second one.
  • Crawl failed. The site blocked the fetch, or the page did not return in time. Fill the name, tagline, and description yourself. The rest of the form still works.
  • Free queue full. Add the badge, pay $9.99 to publish now, or come back tomorrow for a free slot.

A listing that is published can be updated later from the dashboard. Change the tagline or the screenshot there. You do not submit the same URL again.
