uwait is a Chrome extension that monetizes the loading time of AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. When a user asks a question and the AI is generating a response, uwait displays a curated advertisement in the loading screen. Advertisers bid in real time for that slot, and the winning ad is shown. The revenue is split: 50% to the user, 30% to the cited sources (the websites that trained the AI), and 20% to uwait. Users can see their earnings accumulate in a wallet displayed in the extension.
