Typer is a free, private AI chat app for Mac that runs entirely on your device using Apple Silicon. No account or internet connection is required for core functionality. It automatically selects and downloads the best AI model for your Mac's specs (currently Qwen 3.5 for the compact model, with a smarter model downloaded in the background). Typer supports web search (limited free searches, unlimited with Hyper Typer subscription) and image understanding via drag and drop. The app is about 500 MB to download and works offline.
