Baud is developing a novel AI chip and developer platform designed to dramatically lower the cost and energy required to train, fine tune, and deploy frontier AI models. The company has created an arithmetic representation that eliminates multiplications during both forward and backward passes, compressing neural networks without loss. This is paired with an ASIC architecture that leverages this representation, trading multiplications for additions to pack more compute and memory into the same die area. The result is a chip that is faster, more power efficient, and simpler to build than incumbents at the same process node and memory bandwidth.
